Introduction:

Rocks are defined as solids made up of physical mixtures of “minerals.” Minerals are the chemical compounds. However, rocks are physical compounds. The rocks do not have chemical formulas as they are physical mixtures. All the rocks have been categorized into three major categories on the basis of their way of formation.
