A diagram showing nine abdominopelvic regions, and name each region. The two organs (or parts of organs) located in each of the named regions.
A similar sketch illustrating abdominopelvic cavity divided into quadrants, and name each quadrant.
Introduction:
The abdominopelvic cavity refers to the cavity inferior to the diaphragm. Abdominopelvic cavity is subdivided into a superior abdominal cavity containing the stomach, liver, intestines, while an inferior pelvic cavity mainly contains the reproductive organs, bladder, and rectum. The pelvic cavity is present below the posterior position of abdominal cavity. The abdominopelvic cavity is large in size and contains many organs, dividedinto smaller areas for study by medical personnel which further divides the abdominopelvic cavity into four more or less equal regions called quadrants. The four quadrants areright upper quadrant (RUQ), right lower quadrant (RLQ), left upper quadrant (LUQ), and left lower quadrant (LLQ), which are named according to their relative locations with respect to anatomical position.
