Explain the Internet of Things and list three IoT devices.

Explanation of Solution
Internet of Things Internet of Things is the idea of connecting all objects, whether having computational capabilities or not, to connect, gather and exchange data among each other with the help of sensors, software, and hardware for gaining efficiency, simplicity, economic benefits, and reduced human efforts in work processes.
There are a number of uses for which Internet of Things can be leveraged such as monitoring and tracking data, time tracking projects, application that raises money and such other cases.
The research shows that the number of IoT devices is increasing year after year and it is predicted that there will be about 30 billion devices communicating by the year 2020.
IoT devices are embedded with technology that communicate and interact over the internet which can be monitored and controlled remotely.
Imagine you wake up at 8 am in the morning by an alarm clock to go to work by a train on daily basis. At some day, your train is cancelled, and you must drive to work instead which you are unaware of. Driving to work takes longer and you would have needed to wake up earlier to be on time. Also adding on it there has been a major accident on the road the drive will be slower than usual. IoT enabled devices can help in such scenarios to be on time the next working day. An IoT-enabled alarm clock would adjust itself based on the factors and ensure that you reach work on time. It will calculate the driving distance and check for alternate routes and calculate the time you need to wake up and accordingly will set an alarm for that time.
The IoT is reaching further into our lives to help improve performances of individuals. Let’s list some of IoT devices which are in use today:
Smart Yoga Mat: Smart yoga mats can enhance the yoga experience of user by providing him feedbacks on number of calories burned, yoga postures and guiding on new postures.
Smart Refrigerator: A smart refrigerator can keep track of all the items in the stock, keep information on which are fresh or not, which are required to be purchased in near future and suggest the user on his/her smart phone regarding future purchase requirements.
Smartdiapers: Smart diapers can help in monitoring the baby’s urine for infection, dehydration or kidney problems before any future symptoms are seen.
Conclusion The Internet of Things connects any device to the Internet and other connected devices. IoT is a network that collects and shares data and is used to gain efficiency in various day to day working.
