Following are the four functions of management:

  • Planning: It is the general function of management and it deals with making arrangements for a future course of action and fixing the most suitable course of action in advance to achieve the pre-determined goals or objectives.
  • Organizing: It deals with the process of bringing together financial, physical; and human resource productive relationships among them for achieving the goal of the organization.
  • Directing: Provide the right and most appropriate instructions to the workforce to get the job done.
  • Controlling: It is the function that aims to match the actual performance with the planned goal and tries to find out the reasons for deviation if any.
