Data analysis What is the effect of reducing the constant factor for a geometric progression? How would change the curve in the figure?
To explain: The effect of reducing the constant factor for a geometric progression.
Introduction: A geometric progression tends to increase by a constant factor whereas, in the case of arithmetic progression, there is an increase by a constant difference.
Explanation of Solution
The effect of reducing the constant factor for the geometric progression will result in an overall decrease in the rise of the graph and there will be less progression.
To determine: The change that occurs in the curve.
Introduction: Geometric progression is the type of number sequence in which each term after the first term is found to be multiplying by the previous one by a fixed, non-zero number called the common ratio. When the difference between two successive members of sequence is fixed or constant it is said to be arithmetic progression.
Explanation of Solution
On reducing the constant factor for the geometric progression there will be a change in the path of the curve. The curve will shift to the left side and there will be more sharpness in the graph.

You should focus on seeing the trend. Keep the same scaled axes for all yourgraphs, as the three graphs should line up and match up with each other. Your data (plot) points don’t needto be perfectly accurate (remember, you want to visually show the general trends). LH and FSH go on the top graph, estrogen and progesterone in the middle, and endometrium thickness on the bottom graph. * Make sure you use 2 different colours for FSH/LH and estrogen/progesterone. - Now, refer to the data (and graphs).
