Pick any example of a genetic technology and describe how it has directly affected your life.

To review:
An example of genetic technology that has directly affected human life.
Introduction:
The human genome project has sequenced the whole genome of humans. With the help of various sequencing techniques, the sequence of many simple organisms has been completed. It has made the study of the genetic pattern, disease and its treatment possible.
Explanation of Solution
Genetic technologies use modern technology to study the gene sequence and retrieve related information from the genome of the organisms. Similarly, recombinant DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) technology also employs the techniques to alter the genetic makeup of the organism and produce the desired product.
These include the production of medicine using bacteria as a host animal or (reservoir). A common example includes human insulin. The gene coding for human insulin is inserted in the genome of Escherichia coli bacteria, which synthesizes the hormones in large amounts.
Insulin is used as a hormone supplement by the people who cannot synthesize insulin in their body. The deficiency of insulin causes a condition called diabetes. So, the production of hormone is beneficial for many diabetic patients who are dependent on insulin in the form of an injection or as well as tablets. Recombinant DNA techniques have benefitted humans and treated many diabetic diseases.
Therefore, it can be concluded that insulin production using recombinant DNA technology has met the demands of insulin deficiency in a diabetic patient. The technology made insulin easily available to all.
