The experimental method is a method used in psychology to describe, predict and also explain the cause of a particular behavior or phenomenon by using controlled conditions. Experimental method can provide information about the cause and effect relationship that other methods simply fail to do. It involves manipulation of a variable (independent variable) to study its effect under controlled conditions on another variable (dependent variable).
