Answer to Problem 1.1A

Industrial Revolution was the time which experienced the maximum inventions and innovations in the industries, factories and the developments in the history of mankind. These inventions have helped man in minimizing the cost in production and thereby maximizing the outcome of the products. It has also helped in making communication and transportation easier and accessible.

Explanation of Solution

It was during the industrial revolution that the technological advancement was at its peak. During this period the industry evolved and witnessed a high growth in this sector. The economic success of the engineers during this relied mainly on how well they developed themselves according to the growth of the industries. It is a much harder task to calculate the contribution of the engineers in tangible form during the Industrial Revolution. In the early eighteenth century, the industries were generally small scale with the low amount of production. Later during the eighteenth century, the increase in the industries, steam engines, canals, and factories led to the birth of the Industrial Revolution. New techniques in the field of agriculture and farming helped in the growth of the production of food grains. Factories and industries provided employment and paved the way for a better future for the people. Advancement in the steam engines, coal mines, textile mills, and other heavy industries was a boon by the field of engineering. Efficient and powerful engines developed by the engineers brought in a new revolution in the life of mankind. Extensive development in the field of textile development brought new encourage among the people. The machines which helped in spinning off threads into cloth helped in maximizing the products in less time. The process of weaving clothes got the touch of technological advancement which helped in the mass production of cloth. Rapid growth in the field of transportation also saw a rise during the Industrial Revolution. Roads were built in order to make routes for the transportation of raw materials and the finished products from one place to another. The rise in the field of communication includes the progress in the telephonic communication which made the process of communicating with others easier.

Conclusion:

The achievements and the development of the roads and the industries was the outcome of the growth of the Industrial Revolution in the eighteenth century.
