Contingency Table
A contingency table can be defined as the visual representation of the relationship between two or more categorical variables that can be evaluated and registered. It is a categorical version of the scatterplot, which is used to investigate the linear relationship between two variables. A contingency table is indeed a type of frequency distribution table that displays two variables at the same time.
Binomial Distribution
Binomial is an algebraic expression of the sum or the difference of two terms. Before knowing about binomial distribution, we must know about the binomial theorem.

Question

Transcribed Image Text:C) The quality department has tested the produced power transducers in one of its branches. The
tested batch consists of 1000 transducer. The measured power was precisely 10 W. Your supervisor
gave you the results as shown in the group frequency table below.
You may use a spreadsheet for these calculations, but you must provide clear evidence of the
formulas used in each cell and submit the spreadsheet file with your report.

Use the above data to perform the following tasks:
1. Calculate the mean and standard deviation of the measured data.
2. Draw a histogram and a frequency polygon graphs for this data.
3. Based on what you found in 1 & 2, write down a paragraph consisting of 4-5 lines maximum,
explaining this statistical data to a customer who has no technical background. Do not expect the customer
to understand what terms like mean, standard deviation, frequency polygon and histogram mean.
4. Assuming that the distribution of POWER is normal, find the probability that:
i A randomly chosen transducer will produce a power greater than 10.1 W.
ii. A randomly chosen transducer will produce a power greater than 9.34 and smaller than 10.3 W.
iii. A randomly chosen transducer will produce a power less than 9.9 W.
5. The company considers that if the measured power is exactly 10 W Power, then the mean measured
Power of its transducers will be 10 W. 50 transducers are randomly selected to measure a 10 W power.
Using the results of the above table, you have provided a new claim that the mean is not equal to 10 W.
Test this hypothesis; select an appropriate test and conduct it using two different level of significance a =
0.05 and 0.01, interpret the results in both cases
