Hydrology:-
In Civil Engineering, the term hydrology is treated as the branch of engineering which deals with the study of Water Resources. Actually it is referred as Water Resources Engineering.
Hydrology is defined as the multidisciplinary specialization of civil engineering which is dealing with the occurrence, circulation and distribution of water on Earth.
It is mainly focused on the scientific study of the water table, water resources and it's sustainability. It also focus on planning, designing, analysing and operation of water-related projects and constructions by the utilisation and effective and efficient management of water resources.
In civil engineering it is applicable for irrigation projects and schemes, hydroelectric power generation projects and dam constructions, water supply projects, disaster prevention or flood control projects.
