Role of System Models in Requirement Engineering
System modelling is the process of developing invisible system models, with each model
to present a different view or idea of that program. System modelling now means representing a system that uses some form of graphical notation, which is now always based on Integrated Model Language (UML) notes. System modelling helps the analyst to understand system performance and models used to communicate with customers.
Existing system models are used during demand engineering. They help to clarify what the current system does and can be used as a basis for discussing its strengths and weaknesses. This then leads to the requirements of the new system.The new system models are used during demand engineering to help explain the proposed requirements to other program participants. Engineers use these models to discuss design proposals and to write a plan for use. In a model-driven engineering process, it is possible to produce a complete or partial system implementation from a system model.
