Question

Why might religious groups have limited access?

Expert Solution
Introduction

A religious group refers to the groups of individuals sharing a common religious belief, ethics, practices, creed, rituals, traditions, and customs. Christianity, Buddhism, Jainism, etc., are examples of religious groups. The individuals belonging to respective religious groups share strong religious consciousness determining their behaviors, attitude, conduct, and rationality.

Explanation

The religious groups may have limited access due to the following reasons:

  • The misconceptions, prejudices, and stereotypes concerning religious groups limit their access and exposes them to discrimination.
  •  The string affiliation of the religious groups isolated and categorizes them away from other members of society. And this may limit their social interaction with other members of society or community.
  • The religious groups, at times, experience less access to health care. The prejudice and stereotypes surrounding certain religious groups prevent them from this access.
  • During the reign of Hitler, the Jews faced the cruelest faced, i.e., Holocaust, as they were seen as impure by the Germans.
