Why is it rare to find
hemophilic women?

Hemophilia is a rare genetic disorder in which the blood of effected person doesn’t clot normally. It is due to absence of sufficient blood-clotting factors. A hemophilic person may bleed for a long time if get injured. This disorder is caused by the mutation in the gene that is responsible for providing instructions for the formation of blood clotting proteins.
Hemophilia is inherited in X-linked pattern. That means the genes related with this disorder are found on the X-chromosome. In males only one cop of X-chromosome is found and it is sufficient to cause the hemophilia disorder. Females have two copies of X-chromosome and a female would require two copies of the defective genes (X-recessive for hemophilia), one from each parent for the development of hemophilia.
