Why is an undescended testis a problem?

Expert Solution
Step 1

The male reproductive system contains the scrotum, testes, sex glands, penis, and spermatic ducts. All these organs help in the production of sperm and semen. Seminal vesicles, vasa deference, scrotum, testicles, and prostate constitute all the remaining reproductive system. The urethra and penis are part of the urinary system and reproductive system.

Step 2

Undescended testes usually occur in babies. It may be due to the testes does not move down into the scrotal sac from belly until seven months of baby’s development inside the uterus. It may also due to hormone problems. This condition is seen in some newborn boy babies.

Cryptorchidism is Undescended testicles. It is a condition when the testis does not move down in the scrotal sac. When a baby boy develops inside the mother's womb then testicles move down from belly to scrotum just before birth. But in some babies, it does not happen.
