Expert Solution
Step 1

Answer -

Transparent polymers are usually opaque because of light scattering on the numerous boundaries between the crystalline and amorphous regions. The density of such boundaries is lower and consequentially, the transparency is higher - either for low (amorphous polymer) or high (crystalline) degree of crystallinity.

When a polymer subjected to tension and a neck forms it is due to alignment of polymer chains and local strengthening in the neck region ( within the neck, chains become oriented means chain axes become aligned parallel to the elongation direction which leads to localized strengthening) . It is also called conditioning.
