Beer's Law to determine the concentration of a solution?
O We don't have to create a standard curve so long as we choose the
appropriate wavelength.
Because the standard curve tells us the absorbance of our sample
Because the standard curve is used to determine the extinction
coefficient
Because the standard curve indicates what wavelength to set the
spectrophotometer to
Expert Solution

Step 1: Standard Curve
Answer :
In Beer's Law, standard curve is of absorbance vs concentration.
based on the Beer's law equation
A = E*b*c
A = absorbance
b = path length ( generally it is of 1 cm cuvette)
E = extinction coefficient
c = concentration
so if we plot the graph of absorbance vs concentration, it will be a straight line with slope value = extinction coeffecient * path length
