Why did the soap have to “cure” in the molds?
Step by step
Solved in 2 steps with 1 images
- Might there be any microbiological reason for hanging laundry to dry in the sunlight? What was the purpose of leaving the cover on one set of agar plates? How did the growth on these plates differ from the growth on the uncovered plates that were exposed to UV light for the same amount of time?Mold is more likely to appear in your shower than, say, your sock drawer. Why might this be the case?
- What is the main advantage of using the slide culture technique for identifying molds? How is it that mold appeared on my samples? (in other words where did it come from or what is the source of the mold that grows on the samples?) I had 10 bags each bag had 3 slices of apple and 3 pieces of bread, 5 bags where left in a dark warm place and 5 where left in a bright warm place. 2 bags were control bags, 2 contained the fruit/bread and 1 tsp of vinegar, 2 contained fruit/bread and 1 tsp of water, 2 contained fruit/bread and 1 tsp of lemon juice, and 2 contained fruit/bread and 1 tsp of sugar water. The fruit and bread were mixed together in the same bag.Why is it important to first determine whether growth occurred in a different medium, such as starch agar before examining the plates?
