Which nervous system controls all the involuntary activities?
The human body consists of many different organs, and when functionally related organs cooperate they form whole organ systems. The human body shows 11 different organ systems, which are as follows: integumentary system, skeletal system, muscular system, nervous system, endocrine system, cardiovascular system, urinary system, respiratory system, lymphatic system, digestive system, and reproductive system.
The nervous system is a complex system of nerves and specialised cells known as neurons. Neurons are the basic unit of the nervous system and are responsible for transmitting information to nerve cells, muscle or gland cells. The basic structure of neurons include the cell body, an axon, and dendrites.
The nervous system comprises the central nervous system (consists of brain and spinal cord), the peripheral nervous system (consisting of cranial nerves, spinal nerves and peripheral nerves with motor and sensory endings).
