Introduction.
The Big Bang Theory states that everything was situated in a single, unified, dense point which exploded with an immense force, thereby creating the vast galaxies in our universe.
- Due to the explosion, huge amount of energy along with matter was released. The remaining energy inside the universe exists today in the form of Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) radiation. Therefore the first point is correct.
- The Universe is constantly increasing in volume, which means that the celestial bodies are moving away from each other gradually. Therefore, only the longer wavelength reaches us as the bodies move farther. Red portion of the visible spectrum has longer wavelength than the blue end. Hence, as the bodies move farther away, the incoming light shifts towards red. This is also known as the Red Shift. This option is incorrect.
- The chemical composition of the Universe is found to contain about 73% hydrogen and 25% helium. Therefore, this option is incorrect.
