The R group varies from one amino acid to another. There are a total of 20 amino acids namely Glycine, Alanine, Valine, Leucine, Isoleucine, Glutamic Acid, Aspartic Acid, Glutamine, Asparagine, Lysine, Methionine, Arginine, Serine, Cysteine, Threonine, Tryptophan, Proline, Phenylalanine, Histidine, Tyrosine.
