Adolescence is characterized by emotional instability. His moods fluctuate between opposite impulses. At one moment he may be hilarious and the very next moment fly into a rage. This makes the period a stormy one. The storms or conflicts are caused by the adolescent’s inability to cope with his sudden and rapid bodily changes on the one hand, and the inconsistency in parental attitude on the other.
Sense of morality also develops then with religious consciousness and it also makes its appearance at this stage, quite often followed by an attitude of skepticism. From religious consciousness there develops a sense of morality i.e. a sense of what is right or wrong, good or bad, etc.
