Where does Anchored Bulkheads is used?
Expert Solution
Step 1
Anchored bulkhead is also called as anchored sheet pile wall. These are the type of retaining wall found in waterfront construction which is used as wharves or pier for loading and unloading ships or barges. The construction of such walls is accomplished by first driving the sheet piling into the soil to a desire depth and then attaching a tie-rod support at the upper end of pile and anchoring it to concrete blocks, brace blocks, brace piles, or other means of support located at a point safely away from any potential slip surfaces.
