where do Lightweight Concrete use ?
Lightweight concrete:-
Shale, clay, or slate, which give it its distinctively low density, are used to make lightweight concrete, which is a blend of these materials. Contrastingly, the density of regular-weight concrete ranges from 140 to 150 lb/ft3 for structural lightweight concrete, which has an in-place density of 90 to 115 lb/ft3.
Accordingly, lightweight concrete is perfect for the construction of contemporary structures with small foundational cross-sectional requirements. It has become a suitable substitute for ordinary concrete and is being utilized more frequently to construct svelte foundations.
However, with lightweight concrete, a higher compressive strength of 7000–10,000 psi can be achieved. Due to the need to increase the amount of pozzolans and water-reducing admixtures in the concrete, this could jeopardize the mixture's density.
