We can format our dates from the Format Cells exchange box using following steps :-

 

1.Choose the date which we need to change over into weekday name. 

 

2.Go to the Home tab and snap on the little dispatch symbol in the lower right corner of the Number area. This will open up the Format Cells exchange box. We can likewise open up the Format Cells exchange a couple of alternate ways. 

  • The console alternate way Ctrl + 1. 
  • Right snap on the chose cells ➜ pick Format Cells from the menu. 

 

3.Go to the Number tab in the Format Cells discourse box. 

 

4. Choose custom as the Category. 

 

5. Add "dddd "into the Type field for the full weekday name or ddd for the abridged weekday name. 

 

6.Press the OK catch.
