When 8 lamps connected in series circuit, spplied power 480v. It has 60 volts each because 480/8 = 60V. But what I didn't get it means, in the answer it says; 'if there is a fault on lamp 6, then entire voltage drop of 480 will drop accros it.'   what is that mean by that entire voltage drop of 480 will drop accros it?   and also when #6 lamp is fault, #1~5 lamps still have 480V ? even though no current flow?   and rest #7~8 lamps doesn't work because 6 acts as a switch, so no volts and current, am I right?

When 8 lamps connected in series circuit, spplied power 480v.

It has 60 volts each because 480/8 = 60V.

But what I didn't get it means, in the answer it says; 'if there is a fault on lamp 6, then entire voltage drop of 480 will drop accros it.'

what is that mean by that entire voltage drop of 480 will drop accros it?

and also when #6 lamp is fault, #1~5 lamps still have 480V ? even though no current flow?

and rest #7~8 lamps doesn't work because 6 acts as a switch, so no volts and current, am I right?
