What test should I use for this problem?

Transcribed Image Text:5. A graduate student in Health and Human Performance is interested in the effects of stress on reaction time
after watching several near-accidents involving vehicles and pedestrians around campus in the weeks leading up
to finals. He sets up a study where he randomly assigns 18 participants to one of three groups (high stress,
moderate stress, and low stress; 6 individuals per group) based on their responses to a questionnaire that
categorizes the overall responses of individuals as high stress, moderate stress, and low stress. The subjects are
then submitted to a reaction test in a driving simulator and the number of "accidents" and “near misses" are
recorded (see data below).
When reviewing the literature on this subject, the graduate student finds three competing hypotheses.
"Hypothesis A" suggests that subjects under a moderate amount of stress will perform better than subjects in
either the very low or the very high stress groups. "Hypothesis B" predicts that subjects in the high stress group
will perform better than subjects in either the low stress or the moderate stress groups. "Hypothesis C" predicts
that subjects in the moderate stress condition will perform more poorly than subjects in the low stress condition.
