What muscles?
Skull is a skeleton of head, basically a bony framework present in vertebrates forming a bony or cartilaginous case which covers and protects the brain, senses organs and supports the jaw.
The muscles of the head and neck include frontalis, orbicularis oculi , Oris, temporalis, zygomaticus, and masseter. Frontalis muscles help is present on the top of the skull in front, basically the forehead. The facial nerve brings the supply to the frontalis muscle and blood is received by supraorbital and supratrochlear arteries. It is responsible for facial expression. Zygomaticus: A muscle responsible for smile as it allows one to draw the angle of mouth superiorly and posteriorly. This is innervated by facial nerve. Dimples are produced by variations in the form of this muscle. This originates from the cheekbone corner. Orbicularis oculi: A muscle responsible for closing the eyelid. It originates from the nasal part of the frontal bone. It comprises 3 different sections or parts. Masseter is known to play a major role in masticating or chewing solid food. It is connected to the lower jawbone and cheekbone. The muscles of the head and neck includes frontalis, orbicularis oculi , Oris, temporalis, zygomaticus, and masseter.
