Philtrum can be defined as a region that is represented by a midline groove running in between the midline of the upper lip and nose. The appearance of the groove is dependent on the genes of the parents. The philtrum is underlined by the muscle called orbicularis oris. This muscle controls the contraction and relaxation of lips and mouth. It surrounds the mouth from all sides and gets inserted into the lips.
The shoulder region formed due to the attachment of 8 different muscles in the clavicle, humerus, and scapula. These help in providing protection and a wide range of motions to the shoulder joint. The slope of the shoulder is formed by trapezius muscles. These are the flat and broad muscles that are located superficially on the posterior aspect of the trunk and neck. These run along the cervical region to the thoracic region of the body.
