Expert Solution
Reflective Practice Introduction

In simple terms, reflective practice refers to thinking about or reflecting on the actions that a person has performed. It can be closely linked to the concept of learning from experience. It helps an individual in looking back at what they did, how they did and modify the next time the same situation arises. Although there is a difference between casual thinking and reflective thinking. In casual thinking, the individual just thinks about different events that took place, but in reflective practice, the individual requires conscious effort to think about the events and gain insights from them.

There are six major steps for developing and using reflective skills. The steps are as follows:

  1. Read:
An individual can read about the topics that they want to learn or develop.
  2. Ask:
An important step is to ask other individuals about certain actions that they perform and why.
  3. Watch:
It is important to understand the things that have been going on in the individual's environment.
  4. Feel:
The individual needs to understand and pay attention to their own emotions, what prompts them, and how do they deal with the negative emotions.
  5. Talk:
The individuals should share their views and experiences with their friends and colleagues.
  6. Think:
It is important that the individuals also learn to value the time that is required to think of their actions.
