Question
What kind of irregular, side to side slipping continental plate boundaries are formed because of the earth’s spherical shape ?
Expert Solution
Step 1: Introduction to the topic

Plate boundaries are the zone of intense geological activities which are mainly due to the movement of plates.

Their are three kinds of plate boundaries namely-

  • Constructive (divergent) plate boundary
  • Destructive (convergent) plate boundary
  • Conservative plate boundaries

In constructive plate boundaries two plates move away from each other. Here plate the materials are created.

In destructive plate boundaries two plates move towards each other. The plate having more density gets subducted beneath the less dense continental crust. Crustal material destroys here.

In conservative plate boundaries two plates slide past each other. Plate material neither created nor destroyed.
