what is the crown prosecution service is the main body deciding?
Crown Prosecution services are in England and wales, and they are the prominent deciding organizations for the punishments related to criminal prosecutions. The Director of Public Prosecution heads the organization. The rationale behind establishing CPS is to provide legal advice to the police and other investigative agencies during criminal investigations.
The Attorney General has the responsibility of overseeing the CPS's work. They must meet regularly with the DPP, and they also request briefings, especially on matters of quite public and parliamentary concern. Moreover, the Attorney has generally no role to be played in the day-to-day business of the organization. Moreover, the very famous criticism against the CPS is related to Wiki-leaks founder Julian Assange. It was involved in the embarrassment relating to the deletion of the emails of Mr. Assange.
