Hello, these answers are based on the WWll "We Can Do It" poster. 1. The purpose of the paper was to keep women engaged in the war efforts by boosting confidence and motivation. 2. During WWll, many posters similar to this one came out to help boost war efforts and hopefully give them an edge. Context is to motivate women and empower them. This poster directly targeted women. 3. Pathos would be the title of the poster. The closest thing I can think of logos would be that if you were a contributor to the war as a woman you would be looked at similarly to Rosie. Ethos would be the spirit of what Rosie is showing of being strong. 4. The people who made this poster are called The War Production Co-ordinating Committee and they are very credible. 5. This poster gets the point across by showing that since Rosie is working so can other women. 6. Social context would be that you would look good in the social eye for working in the war. The political context would be getting women to help in the war. The historical context is most women never helped in war efforts. Cultural context would be to make it more acceptable to have women help in what is considered "manly jobs". 7. In the poster it shows Rosie flexing which displays that she is strong and it's not just men that are considered "strong". 8. Language is a major contributor to the effect of this poster because it says "We can do it" not "I can do it". When glancing at this poster as a woman it grabs your attention because it's a woman in vibrant colors. 9. I think the argument is made very effectively. They chose a strong woman to display with the words "We Can Do It" at the top of the poster. This got the point across effectively and you could quickly get the point What is your opinion about this discussion? Do you agree or disagree?
