However, the fastest CPU that fits in that socket is already in your possession if you already have a Pentium 233. In that scenario, you want to seriously consider getting a new motherboard, which would enable you to simultaneously upgrade to a Pentium II CPU. If your system has an industry-standard Baby-AT or ATX motherboard architecture and your chassis is not proprietary, I usually advise replacing the motherboard and processor rather than attempting to find an upgrade CPU that will work with your current board.
