Text 1:
In Vila Velha a man dies after suffering a heart attack on the street
this Sunday (20), around 10 pm, a man known as Wanderley Amarantes ended up dying when he
was walking on a public road in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo. According to information from the
local PM, the victim was going to visit his family members who live close to the City Hall and,
during the journey, ended up feeling ill, suffering a heart attack and falling in the middle of the
street. He was still rescued, being sent to the city's municipal hospital, but unfortunately he did
not resist and died. The victim was about 68 years old.
Text 2:
A candle for Dario
Dario was hurrying, umbrella on his left arm, and as soon as he turned the corner, he slowed to a
stop, leaning against the wall of a house. Slipping through it, he sat on the sidewalk, still damp
with rain, and his pipe rested on the stone.
The last mouth repeated He died, he died. We started to disperse. It had taken Dario two hours
to die, no one believed it was over. Now, to those who could see him, he had all the air of a dead
man.
A godly gentleman took off Dario's jacket to support his head. He crossed his hands over his
chest. [.] Just one dead man and the crowd spread out, the coffee tables were empty. [.]
A colored and barefoot boy came with a candle, which he lit beside the corpse.
[.]
The windows were closed one by one, and three hours later, Dario was waiting for the hearse.
The head now on the stone, without the jacket, and the finger without the ring. The candle had
burned halfway and went out at the first drops of rain, which was falling again.
