The Value Engineering is a basic approach which involves conscious and explicit set of procedure designed to achieve optimum value for both; initial and lifecycle investment. It is not concerned to only review or designing or cost cutting exercises, but relates with the creative efforts and analysis for achieving the project purposes at the lowest total cost during the entire lifespan of the project. The value engineering helps to eliminate the stressors, identify and mitigate the potential barriers and risks; and focus on new and better designs and materials for the project which reduces the environmental risks and maintenance cost of the project along with other benefits.
