What is the difference between a hormone and a paracrine?
The control and regulation of our body function requires information and so in the multicellular organisms, this information is brought or transmitted by way of electrical signals and chemical signals. This chemical signals are known as hormones. Hormones are chemical messengers which are secreted by glands in our body and are distributed to various organs via circulation to regulate various body functions. They are diffused locally in extracellular fluid and are picked by blood to transport to the target organs. Hormone producing cells are endocrine cells. Hormonal message is received by target cells provided they have appropriate receptors to bind with it.
