What is the consensus approach to social order?

Expert Solution
INTRODUCTION

There are several fundamental concepts in the discipline of sociology. The social is also the one among them. Society consists of the peoples and their social interactions, social institutions, social structures, etc. The social order is the one that refers to how all the components in the society will work in collectivity order to maintain the status quo in the society.

EXPLANATION

Several approaches in sociology study the different aspects of society. The consensus approach is also the one among them. This approach holds that a particular political or economic system is a fair system. The social change should take place within the social institutions t it is developed in contrast to the conflict theory and also rejects the claim that social change is achieved only through the conflict between the groups or social institutions. This theory sees that there is the absence of conflict in the society, and it is seen as the state of equilibrium in the society. It also propagates a general agreement among all members of a particular society about the implementation and existence of the norms, values, and rules, and regulations. This theory is majorly concerned with the maintenance of the social order in society. It also serves as an argument for the maintenance of the status quo in society. The rules installed in society are seen as integrative, and the persons exhibiting the behavior against these rules are designated as deviant behavior. This perspective contrastingly rejects the claims of the conflict theory.
