Below are 2 algorithms for finding the max element: Algorithm 1) Define a temp variable called 'max' and initialize it to the value of the first Integer in the List. Iterate through the rest of the List, one element at a time, updating the temp variable anytime an Integer is found that is larger than the current 'max'. Algorithm 2) Sort the List using Collections.sort(list1); then find the max element using list1.get(list1.size() – 1);
