The Phenomenon of Synesthesia happens when there is a stimulation of more sensory experiences other than that intended for a particular sense organ. The reason for such a singularity is that atypical neural path ways are set up. Simply put, synesthetes experience their surroundings in a way that activation of one sense automatically triggers activities in others creating an amalgamation between the senses.

People with such a unique combination of sensations are called “synesthetes”. It is essential to stress that synesthesia  is not a disease, because its not belonging to the group of disorder or pathology. It is not simply another quality; it rather stands out as an exceptional characteristic granting a unique perspective into the world. The majority of synaesthetes report that their syndrome provides them with an added dimension by means of which they perceive the everyday environment. Besides that, it rarely harms people and has extremely subjective manifestation enhancing the charm of such cognition process.
