What is defined as being "feminine" and "masculine" has changed significantly over the past 20 years in America. You would have seen few female doctors or male nurses when I was born. In fact, the only males I saw in elementary school were either the custodians or administrators (principal or assistant principal). Name at least one gender expectation (think jobs, physical appearance, how one acts in public, general stereotypes, etc.) has changed the most during this time?

Expert Solution
Step 1

In our society, certain people are ranked higher while others are placed in a lower position. This is applicable in the idea of gender as well. Sex is a biological construct which differentiate between two different sexes based on their physical appearance. However, the concept of gender is a social construct. The society has added various meaning to the idea of gender. This is done on the basis of superiority and inferiority, women are considered weaker while men are seen as stronger gender. Our history has exploited women on the basis of such thinking.
