The "modalities for persuasion" of Aristotle are identified by the terms ethos, pathos, and logos - also considered as rhetorical appeals. They are ways of compelling others to embrace a particular perspective. They can also be used in expository writing and promotions to attract the viewer.
Ethos (frequently referred to as an appeal to ethics) can be used to convince the reader, be it a famous or established figure in the field or perhaps a typical celebrity, through the persuader's credibility or reputation.
By generating a passionate response to an emotional plea or a persuasive narrative, Pathos (emotional appeal) persuades an individual of an argument.
Logos (response to logic) use facts and figures to convince listeners with rationale.
