What does the condensate of junk calorimeter indicates?
What does the condensate of junk calorimeter indicates?
The Junker calorimeter is used to determine the amount of heat released by the gaseous fuel on complete combustion. The calorific value is determined based on the heat exchange between the gases and the water.
In calorimeter, the working involves the measuring the amount of the gaseous fuel fuel that is supplied for combustion using a flow meter and the gas is combusted. The cylindrical combustion chamber is surrounded coil in which the cold water is circulated. The amount of water that flows into and out of the coil is measured and the amount of heat absorbed by the water is measured in the form of temperature change. Therefore, the amount of heat is absorbed by the water is equal to the amount of heat released during the combustion of fuel.
