Peter Ludwig Berger was an Austrian-born American sociologist who was born on 17th March 1929 and died on 27th June 2017. He was a theologian and was interested in religion where he said that the relevance of religion is prominent in the present society. He is especially known for his work “Invitation to Sociology' written in 1963 where despite writing about religion Berger also wrote on capitalism, and third world development. He brought out linkages between capitalism and democracy in the same way as he thought to link authoritarianism with socialism.
