What do you mean by cartilaginous bones?
The hard, whitish connective tissue found in all vertebrates and which make up the skeletal structure of the same are called bones. Bones mainly consists of calcium. Bones are living and growing tissues. It is mostly made up of collagen, which is a protein providing a soft framework while the calcium phosphate, a mineral that provides the strength and hardens the framework. Thus this combination of collagen and calcium bones becomes strong and flexible enough to withstand stress.
The resilient, smooth, elastic connective tissues, which provides a rubber-like cushioning that covers and protects the long bones' ends at the joints and the nerves are called cartilages. It is made up of Chondrocytes and Chondroblasts where chondro means cartilage. This makes the cartilage strong, flexible and semi-rigid supportive tissues.
