Converters are very essential in the renewable energy power system or the hybrid energy power system. As the output across the renewable energy devices is not constant, hence the converters are to be designed in a specific manner such that the required characteristics are achieved.
Certain consideration that should be kept in mind while designing the converter for the Renewable energy system are as follows:
1- The most common problem associated with the Renewable energy system is that it does not have a constant output like wind turbines and solar panels. Thus, a special type of converter is required so that the load can be connected to the renewable energy system without facing problems in the balancing of the voltage.
The multilevel converter can be used to connect the renewable energy power system to the AC grid without much difficulty, also it has a lower switching frequency, thus the efficiency of the converter is increased. Also, it can be used to connect the system to the AC grid in series or parallel as per the requirement.
