What are the various agricultural revolutions in stone age
The agricultural revolution started during the Neolithic age which roughly started from the 10000 B.C. Before this, the humans were generally nomads with the primary occupation of hunting and gathering. There was no development of agriculture before the Neolithic age. The Neolithic age is also referred to as the new stone age.
The first instance of agricultural activities is traced in the region of the middle east. The cultivation of the plants started in this period. The primary crops which were grown in the areas near the Mediterranean were wheat and barley. These crops slowly became an important part of the diet of people in Asia, Africa, and Europe.
The rearing of the animals also started in this period and people established their settlements to look after their crops and animals. This was also the beginning of the ending of the culture of nomadism.
Before the Neolithic age, there was no significant agriculture practice. Only a few wild plants were grown and eaten by the nomadic people.
