Step 1
The Solar Nebula theory explains the formation of sun and planets. the planetary systems are believed to have evolved from large hot gaseous nebula rotating in space.
Solar nebula theory predicts : Rocky planets being close to the Sun, and Gas Giants planets being far from the Sun. And the motions of most solar system objects orbit and rotate in an organized fashion.
There are a few exceptions : Uranus is tilted on its side and rolls around the Sun. And Venus rotates in retrograde (backwards) as it orbits the Sun, contrary to the other planets in the solar system. And the detection of hot Jupiter.
