Leukocytes or White blood cells are the body's immune cells that help in fighting foreign bodies like bacteria, viruses, etc. They are of 5 types - Neutrophils, eosinophils, basophils, monocytes, and lymphocytes.
Platelets or thrombocytes play a vital role in blood clotting mechanisms. They reach the injury site and stop bleeding by forming clots made of fibrinogen.
