What are the controlling variables for “spontaneous tact?”
'Tact' is a concept that was popularized by the American Psychologist, B.F. Skinner in his 1957 book Verbal Behavior. The term 'tact' is used to refer to a verbal operant which is related to a non-verbal stimulus, for instance the word 'hot' is a verbal operant in the case of a glass of hot milk (non-verbal stimulus) a mother places in front of her child. The tact is maintained by social reinforcement which is not specific. For example in this case, the social reinforcement might either be that the child drink it carefully or immediately (non - specific)
The term 'spontaneous' refers to any act that is performed without an associated queue, impulse or premeditation.
