What are parts h-j?

Expert Solution
Step 1: Simple probabilities.

The complete table is

             R         L         S        Total

H        140     240     400     780

H to the power of c        70      50     100     200

Total   210     290    500   1000

H. P(H|R) =fraction numerator P left parenthesis H intersection R right parenthesis over denominator P left parenthesis R right parenthesis end fraction space equals fraction numerator 140 divided by 1000 over denominator 210 divided by 1000 end fraction space equals 140 over 210= 0.6667

I.Two events A and B are mutually exclusive if they have no points in common. That is

Aintersection B space equals space ϕ and P(Aintersection B) =0

Now Hintersection R =140 and P(Hintersection R right parenthesis =140 over 1000 equals 0.14 not equal to zero.Hence H and R are not mutually exclusive.

It means 140 dominant right hand students are also right foot longer.
